Driving test waiting times are spiraling out of control.

COVID, and Lock-downs have pushed the driving test waiting times way passed any previous highs.
During lock downs driving tests were stopped. The people who had driving tests booked during lock down had them cancelled, and waiting for new driving test dates were expected to be long.
During lock down many people also turned seventeen, and concerned they could be waiting almost a year for a driving test, was eager to pre-book a space as soon as the driving test booking system reopened.
When driving tests eventually started again, many tests were cancelled because either the candidate, driving examiner, or driving instructor was taken ill with COVID.
It’s been a long journey, and it could be another year or more before the DVSA manage to get the driving test waiting list down to what we would consider acceptable.
