ADI Part Three module: The instructional ability test
On the day of your ADI part three test, you will arrive at the driving test centre with a student, who can be a learner driver or a full licence holder.
The examiner will ask you a few details pertaining to the candidate and the
lesson to determine the lesson plan.
The examiner sits in the back of the training vehicle, and keeps silent throughout the part tree test.
They are there to observe the lesson, and will therefore mark you on your ability to deliver the 17 competencies.
Once arriving back at the driving test centre, and after the completion of the lesson, the examiner will leave you with your student while they deliberate over the lesson and score it against the 17 competencies.
You then be given the result, which is marked between 0 and 51 points.
0 to 30 would be a fail, meaning that you will have to rebook another part three test.
31 to 42 is a pass and will be marked as a grade B.
43 to 51 is a pass in the highest bracket and will be market as a grade A.
